Race Details

Timing

We recognize that for many, completing an obstacle run will be rewarding in and of itself.  We also know that others are challenged by competition and want to know how long it took to conquer the course.   We will be timing the race.

Each individual or team will be timed for the course

Awards/Prizes

This is meant to be a fun and challenging event and we consider completing the course to be rewarding.  However, we would also like to recognize those who conquered it the fastest.

Awards – –

5K – Top 3 Individual Males and Females
5K – Top 3 Male, Co-Ed, and Female Teams (each)
Due to the participation levels, we’ve expanded our awards to include a break down by gender.  To be eligible for awards, all team members and individuals, must complete all obstacles as designed.  Winners will receive a one-of-a-kind Prize.  This will be mailed to participants once results are finalized after the event.

Because runners will be starting as much as 2 hours apart, we will not hold an award ceremony at the event.  This is so no one has to stay all morning.

Results will be posted on the website as soon as possible after the race.   We will mail the winners their awards.

Can Children Participate?  Is there a minimum age?

Yes, they can!   No there isn’t.   All minors under 18 require a release  waiver.   We are asking that children 12 and under run with an adult.  We had kids as young as 7 do the course last year and loved it.  We believe kids will have a blast and can handle the 5K course.   We are trusting that a parent or adult participating with a child under 12 will know his or her capabilities.  The course is “challenge by choice” so skipping an obstacle is no problem, it only eliminates you from awards.  However, we realize that isn’t probably a big reason they are participating.

What if it rains?

We all get wet!  We will complete the event rain or shine.  Only if weather was dangerous (lightning) would we stop or cancel the event.

Facilities

There is plenty of parking at the school.

There will be post event refreshments (drinks and fruit)

What to wear?

Run in what you feel comfortable with and don’t mind if it gets wet and messy.  Costumes or group outfits are encouraged.  There will be a box for donating shoes if you wish.

Safety:

We have designed the course and the obstacles to offer a challenge while keeping safety paramount.

We will have monitors at all the obstacles to assist if necessary.   We will also have medical response personnel at the start/finish to respond quickly if needed.

Each obstacle is challenge by choice.  If you don’t wish to complete the obstacle, you may skip it.  You will not be eligible for awards however.

Refunds/Transfers?

Unfortunately no refunds will be given either due to a request of a participant or due to cancellation of the event by the organizers.  We can provide your t-shirt either at the race or by mail.   You will just need to tell us.

If you can’t run, but want to give your number to someone else, just contact us and let us know the details of the switch.

Cleaning Up

You will want to bring a change of clothes and a towel.  We will not have showers, but will have several hoses available for cleaning off.

Course Aid Stations

We will have water stations available on the course.  There will be at least two on the 5K
